Client Stories
“At ACF, we believe every pet deserves compassionate care, regardless of their owner’s financial situation. Thanks to our donors and partner clinics, we’re making veterinary care accessible, for elderly and disabled community members, strengthening the bond between pets and their people.”
Meet Molly and Taco
Molly, a longtime ACF client, is thankful for the support that enables her pet Taco to get essential veterinary care. After injuring his foot while playing, Taco needed an x-ray and a splint to heal a dislocation. Thanks to ACF’s financial aid and the Lyndale Animal Hospital, Taco received the necessary treatment and is back to his playful self, pain-free and fully recovered.

Mr. Sugar Kitty, a senior cat, needed his annual wellness check, vaccines, and blood work to screen for age-related conditions. His owner, living on a limited income, wanted to ensure he received proper care but needed financial assistance. Meet Laurel and Prince
For Laurel, adopting Prince brought companionship and purpose to her life. Prince, who was underweight due to an undiagnosed gastrointestinal issue, needed ongoing medical care that Laurel could no longer afford after using her stimulus check for his initial treatment. Thanks to support from ACF and generous donors, Prince received the care he needed, is now at a healthy weight, and is a happy, thriving cat. |
Meet Marceau
Marceau, a young dog with a luxated patella, needed surgery to regain his active lifestyle. His owner, Barb, found it challenging to cover the cost of the $2,600 procedure. With help from ACF, which provided $1,100, and additional support from the Humane Society, the surgery went ahead. Marceau has been recovering well, progressing through physical therapy, and is expected to make a full recovery. Thanks to the donors who made this care possible!
Meet Bogey
Bogey needed his annual wellness exam and vaccines, but his owner couldn’t afford the cost after covering an earlier surgery. Thanks to donations and ACF’s support, Bogey received the necessary care and is now happily back home. Routine exams and vaccinations help detect health issues early, preventing more severe problems, reducing pain and suffering for pets, and saving on future costs, allowing ACF to assist even more animals. |
Meet Lisa and Maeley Mae
After losing her Schnauzer, Sasha, Lisa was uncertain about adopting another dog. At the Doggie Depot event, she discovered fostering, and soon began caring for Maeley Mae, a dog with mobility issues, through the MN boxer Rescue. Despite Maeley Mae’s unknown health condition and several medical challenges, Lisa ultimately adopted her, covering her care with help from ACF, donations, and nonprofit support. Now a joyful seven-year-old, Maeley Mae thrives as Lisa’s support companion, and together they inspire each other to keep going, truly living up to their label as “quite the pair.” |
