Dr. Lindsay Avila, DVM has always had a love of animals and people, both of which have driven her career path. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She has extensive experience in private small animal clinical practice in multiple hospitals, with a special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, and geriatric care. As an Antech Professional Services Veterinarian, Dr. Avila has created and presented multiple RACE approved CE sessions. When not working, Dr. Avila enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors, especially hiking.

Dr. Natalie Morgan, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Cardiology) received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Iowa. She enjoys treating and managing chronic heart failure in both dogs and cats, procedural interventions for congenital heart defects and working with and educating clients to help create the best possible outcomes. Outside of work, Dr. Morgan enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their two dogs and two cats. She also likes playing ice hockey, cooking, dabbling in the creative arts and laughing with friends.

Dr. Kara Nelsen, DVM, MPH worked to open Allied Emergency Veterinary Services in Eau Claire, Hudson, and most recently Minneapolis. Dr. Nelsen wanted to open an employee owned Emergency Hospital “so that people feel empowered and find emergency room medicine to be a career-length decision. Working long hours, overnight, and weekend, and holidays hours, are difficult for most people – and come with sacrifice – and we feel the employees deserve to have ownership in where they work ... when they work so hard.” Dr. Nelsen Graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and also holds a Masters in Public Health. She has been working in Veterinary Medicine for over 20 years.

Dr. Lisa Powell, DVM, Diplomate ACVECC has 15 years of experience as an intensive care unit director and professor at the University of Minnesota. A consummate educator and prolific writer, she has held editorial positions with the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and Clinician’s Brief. She has worked with the St. Paul police and fire departments and in 2011 was awarded the Minnesota Public Safety Service Award of Merit for going above and beyond to help save the life of a police K-9 who was stabbed in a robbery attempt. Dr. Powell’s clinical interests include treatment of septic, critically ill patients and respiratory disease, especially conditions requiring mechanical ventilation. Some of her favorite cases to treat are trauma and toxicities because of the number of successful outcomes.
