On-Demand Gastroenterology for the
​Small Animal Private Practitioner and Technician
5.5 CE* Credits for DVMs and Technicians
This program has been approved for 5.5 hours of CE credits in jurisdictions which recognize RACE approval.

To complete the program, registrants will need to watch the videos and complete the accompanying quiz.  You must earn at least 70% on each quiz to get credit.  Quizzes may be retaken if necessary.  All sessions and quizzes must be completed to receive credit.  The entire program must be completed within 6 months of registering.

Dr. Joseph Bartges, DVM, PhD, DACVIM, DACVN is Professor of Internal Medicine, Interventional Radiology, and Nutrition at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.  He received his veterinary degree from the University of Georgia and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Minnesota.  He than completed his residency training in internal medicine and nutrition and a PhD program at the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Bartges has published over 100 peer-reviewed texts and has spoken at more than 250 events.  In his free time, Dr. Bartges enjoys music (plays guitar), movies, and trying new restaurants. ​
Dr. Ashley Smith, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology) is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Oncology at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.  She received her veterinary degree from Tufts University.  She then pursued a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Florida.  Dr. Smith completed an oncology specialty internship, master’s degree, and a medical oncology residency at Auburn University. Her clinical interests include lymphoma, osteosarcoma, electrochemotherapy, and palliative care for cancer patients.  In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling (when it’s safe to do so!) and spending time with her husband and their furry family of 3 dogs and 2 cats.  ​
Dr. Lara Rasmussen, DVM, DACVS is a board-certified mobile surgeon and owner of Direct Veterinary Surgery, practicing both orthopaedic and general/soft tissue surgery in the Twin Cities, MN since 2006.  Dr. Rasmussen completing her veterinary medical degree in 1993 at the University of CA-Davis. She finished a small animal medicine and surgery internship at South Shore Veterinary Associates in MA in 1994 and went on to complete a three-year small animal surgical residency and Masters at the University of MN.  Dr. Rasmussen taught clinical surgery at WA State University from 1998-99, and clinical skills and problem-based learning with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in CA from 1999-2006.  Dr. Rasmussen completed her surgery credentials and was awarded Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1999. Her professional interests include laryngeal paralysis, pain management, gastrointestinal surgery, trauma surgery, critical care, multimodal anaesthesia, and learning “why?”.​
​Michelle D. Krasicki-Aune, MBA, BS, CVT, Fear Free Certified Elite completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology at North Dakota State University and received her credentials as a Certified Veterinary Technician from the state of Minnesota the following year.  Ms. Krasicki-Aune later received her Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Veterinary Medicine Management from the Minnesota School of Business.  She has extensive experience in Veterinary Technology Education presenting to both technicians and veterinarians.  In her free time, Ms. Krasicki-Aune enjoys fishing, traveling, and Boxer dog.
