These resources help pet owners manage unexpected medical costs, ensuring that pets receive the necessary care when it matters most. 

Financial Support for Non-Routine Veterinary Care

(United States)
Services Provided:
  • Provide urgent and emergency veterinary care
​Qualifications:
  • Income based 
  • Must be urgent or emergency care
  • Covers emergency veterinary care
  • Cats and dogs only

MN Humane Society Veterinary Care Centers (vet care grant)
​(Minnesota)
Services Provided: 
  • Offers ability to apply for grants
  • Veterinary assistance grant
Qualifications 
  • Must be  Minnesota Resident
  • Based on income
  • Household size
  • Pet over 6 months must be spayed or neutered
  • Can be used for care provided 60 days before approval that has not been paid for or for new care.

Services Provided:
  • Financial assistance for pet emergencies 
  • Average award is $250
Qualifications: 
  • Household income must be at most 60,000,
  • Pet must be seeking treatment for life threatening illness or injury
  • Pet must have a current diagnosis 
  • Must live in the U.S ​​

  • Offers funding for four different categories of treatment 
  • Basic care, non-urgent care, Urgent care, Emergency care

  • Must contact via email before submitting application 
  • Pet must be able to wait the length of current waitlist

(United States)
​Services Provided:
  • Provides financial support for those who cannot afford veterinary care
  • Provides finance for all illnesses and injuries 
  • Includes medication, insulin, Heart worm positive treatment and medical equipment such as wheelchairs
  • does not provide assistance for spaying/neutering, vaccinations, flea/tick, Heart worm preventative medication, preventative care, routine dental care, routine office visits or euthanasia
Qualifications: 
  • Must be a dog or cat 
  • Must be having financial struggles 
  • Must provide hardship 
  • Diagnosis/treatment plan from a veterinarian

  • Provides funding to families who find themselves with a sick pet that would likely respond to treatment but cannot afford it 
  • Connects you with other care providers

Hope Mending Hearts
(United States)
Services Provided: 
  • Financial assistance grants
  • Resources for pet owners struggling with economic hardship
  • Resources for victims of domestic violence and deploying soldiers
Qualifications: 
  • Pet must have a life-threatening injury or illness that requires urgent and specific treatment.
  • Pet must have a favorable prognosis.
  • Pet must be spayed or neutered
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Make a concerted fundraising effort
  • Before Hope Mending Hearts grants can be approved, pet owners must first apply for Care Credit.

Diabetic Cats in Need
(United States) (Canada) 
Services Provided: 
  • Financial Support for cats with diabetes 
  • Glucose testing kits
Qualifications: 
  • Must live in U.S or Canada
  • Must be a cat with diabetes
  • Must provide written statement on why you need the assistance 
  • Must be able to test glucose yourself ​

Friends and Vets Helping Pets
(United States)
Services Provided: 
  • Assist families with financial limitations to pay for veterinary expenses necessary to save a pet’s life
Qualifications: 
  • Must be up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
  •  Only need minor subsidy to meet the veterinary expenses
  • Financial aid is intended as a supplement to family resources
  • All applicants must be prepared to show financial need

  • Includes veterinary services costs
  • Flexible Financing options allowing to pay over time

  • Must be at least 18 years old
